Medha was born & raised in Mumbai, India. Having a passion for art since childhood, she always wanted to be an artist ever since she remembers. She graduated with a B.F.A (painting) 1st class from the prestigious Sir. J.J. School of Arts (it’s a college, called school for the style of painting) in 1995. She has been illustrating for books and newspapers since her college days. She has worked for 3 Indian animation studios and animated several advertisements, T.V shows, & Films for UNIFEC Asia & South Africa. She also painted several murals for the offices of these animation studios.
She moved to USA in 1999 after marriage. And had to take a break in career due to visa limitations in USA and then continued the break to raise her 2 sons, who mean the world to her. Though on a career break, art is something she could never let go. She continued painting for hobby and gifting portraits to all the sweet people she came across.
She has actively started painting & exhibiting since 2011. She works mostly in watercolors, oils & pencils (graphite & colored). She loves to paint everything in this world – landscapes, portraits, floral, animals, murals, illustrations, replicas, object drawings. She is a committee member (Historian) of Suburban Artist group, and a member of Woodbridge Artisan guild. She also teaches drawing, water colors, oil paintings and animation.
