Community Making a Difference

Make a Mask
Tutorial designed by Krishma Patel

George Street Playhouse

We would like to recognize the great work George Street Playhouse employees are doing to help the community during these times of much needed assistance. George Street Playhouse’s Costume Shop Manager Joleen Addleman Loyd, Wardrobe Supervisor Rachel Pollard, and assistant Suzann Cornelison have been creating masks for RWJ and Overlook hospitals.

Assistant Props Master Shannon White has also been busy helping to create PPE masks, gowns, and face shields.

The face shields are a project between Ms. White and a friend Sam Ghali. He has a larger 3D printer to print out the top headband piece and Ms. White has a smaller one to deal with the bottom ridge piece. Ms. White explains, “We then attach acetate to the front and rubber bands to the back. These have no fabric or foam so that they can be completely reusable. Foam and fabric (such as elastic for the back) means it cannot be fully disinfected. These are all being donated to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital”.

Frappe Joe Coffee

County residents are doing their part to help during this difficult time. One Edison resident, Chef Shank, has been working around the clock to provide food for JFK Hospital workers with Frappe Joe Coffee.
