The New Jersey Media Arts Center is the only media arts center in New Jersey programming year-round — offering over 100 annual film screenings, workshops, and events via the Bi-Annual New Jersey Film festival and the Summer New Jersey International Film Festival. We are dedicated to the non-commercial exhibition of the media arts and to furthering media arts education. Our goals are to broaden the public’s understanding of the media arts; to offer multi-cultural media arts programming that reflects the diversity of our audiences and communities; to provide a forum for classic, experimental, independent, and international cinema; to preserve classic cinema in an archive and library; and to teach filmmaking. The New Jersey Film Festival has been in existence for over 38 years and are the main focus of our mission to provide thought provoking cinema to our state and our county residents. We know we are filling avoid in cinema programming and the New Jersey Film Festivals are the main reason for the New Jersey Media Arts Center/Rutgers Film Co-op’s success. New Jersey Monthly Magazine selected the New Jersey Film Festival as a Jersey Choice pick and the Best of NJ in 2014. In addition, the NJFF was voted “Favorite Film Festival” in the 2011 JerseyArts.com People Choice Voting and have been runner up in the 9 other years this vote has taken place.
